Done

Re-posting with a few bits finished off. Learnt a fair bit. I'd like to have another crack at it with a new design, maybe plan it a little more carefully --

Keep ticking

A few sketchbook pages of not much substance (yet), but its a been a while so need to keep it ticking over. A post for the sake of it almost.

Sensory bombardment, WIP, a sketch now but am working it up into something a little more finished.

A few people, face are a never ending struggle (and hands, feet and bodies for that matter)

 Mana-tea?

And the long clinker, pressuring people into embarrassing speeches from over their shoulder, with their super sized clinking spoon.

WIP, model testpiece

Ongoing tests for a giant keyhole. Or not a hole -- but the negative space of a keyhole? Anyway.

Painting on latex (original model made from weight plate and clay).

Several layers of latex later and pretty much dried.

Fibreglass mother-mould -- not my neatest work! But it'll do; it only has to be strong enough for the latex to hold its shape.

Plaster poured in, it will ultimately be made from resin but for a cheaper test run plaster'll be fine and easy to smooth and shape if another mould has to be taken from it.

Demoulded, worked out ok! A couple of tweaks and the real deal will be ready to go.

People and other animals

Realised I don't think I've ever drawn a dinosaur. In my head they're still too cool to have actually existed, they'll always be a fiction to some extent. The fact that an asteroid may have wiped them out always seemed a fittingly epic end.

A sketch that'll turn into a larger graphic in the near future.

Puzzle time and speedy jottings of strangers in a cafe.

All pencil on paper.

The gas man cometh

Illustrator and Photoshop. Being quite an untidy sketcher I'm starting to see the appeal of vector art -- a bit fiddly, but lovely clean lines.

And the original --

Masks and a Joker

From the Black Mirror Batman comic (though haven't read it), saw this and couldn't help jotting down a version. Distorted, grotesque features are a bit of a cheat -- the unusual proportions are much more forgiving than a clean, pretty figure -- but a bit more fun.

And a few gas mask roughs for another pic.

All pencil on paper.

Pidge

More doodles. Self conscious pigeon probably isn't the fairest of them all.
